Does this matter?

Recently, I stumbled about 10 question which help to focus on work that matters.

I copied them into this document and answered from my perspective.

/Ten questions for work that matters

There we go.

/what are you doing that’s difficult?

Nearly everything I do is at least difficult and sometimes impossible.
I am operating at the edge where determination between these options takes place.
Everything else, I ignore or automate as much as I can.

/what are you doing that people believe only you can do?

No idea. “People” do not tell, even when I ask for (see below). Maybe “believing” is too private.

/who are you connecting?

I connect whoever is in reach at slightest indication it might generate benefit to us all. Sometimes, I have a little too much visionary energy.
Most people are very upset to be connected. So, I am a bit careful about.
Could be more …

/what do people say when they talk about you?

Do not know. They do not tell.
Sometimes there are rumors about being stressful (see “connecting”).

/what are you afraid of?

Nothing really.
There are some basic fears about “death before done” and loosing physical abilities.

/what’s the scarce resource?

Time.
Time.
Time.

/who are you trying to change?

Me.
There is no try – do or do not!

/what does the change look like?

Looking deeper, further and with a little more attention to achieve confidence and calmness by understanding.

/would we miss your work if you stopped making it?

Again: I do not know. Nobody says, even when I ask for (see below).

/what do you stand for?

An attitude of clarity.

/what contribution are you making?

Thinking and making available by speaking and publishing.

Hints:
Any question that’s difficult to answer deserves more thought.
Any answers that are meandering, nuanced or complex are probably a symptom of something important.

I totally agree!

/personal reflection

I had no difficulties to answer that questions in a quick manner.

It’s because I already thought a lot about.
And yes, sometimes I am a little sad and astonished about lack of resonance from You, the unknown public.
Is it about small circle of reach? Does it not matter to others like me?

There is a totally different perception if I ask people, I already interact with on personal basis.
Then there is the kind of feedback, I long to and we benefit from at both sides.

Maybe it is just too much expectation, generated from other people and topics I perceive from media?

In these moments, I remember my major learning from Bhagavad Gita.
With my own words:
“I have the right and the duty to act on issues of matter.
But, there is no right to claim a certain result.”

Action creates positive Karma,
results are just consequences.

Gain esteem from deliberate action, not from its expected result.

This part is the very hard one in the so called “modern western world”.

And btw. given answers focusing on my public Blog-activities.
There is a slightly different image in Business or family context.

Life runs in circles. Some are smaller, some are bigger.
In the end, there is no end – only another beginning.

Enjoy, and share what You like. Feel free to make life great by doing so!

/request for resonance

I would like to ask You for three quick actions, with small effort on Your side and great benefit for all – You, future readers and me for understanding and improving what matters most.

  • A “Like” is a nice signal of acknowledgement.
  • Feel free to forward this post to somebody who gains benefit from it.
You will find some tools for easy sharing below to this article.
  • Additionally, interaction is necessary to do great.
Please, share Your thoughts by commenting (below) or contacting directly.
Remember, a topic gets shape by questions AND constructive disagreement.

  1. /what are you doing that people believe only you can do?

I totally agree. It is quite interesting that people are almost never telling you what they see in you. I try to compensate that be explicitly asking for feedback on my work. With that it is sometimes possible to read between lines and answer the above question.

/what do people say when they talk about you?
Let me give you an insight. Here are some quick phrases I tell people about you….

-> Extreme quick ability to analyses situations, based on a lot of knowledge and experience. With that comes the mindset to push ideas, mostly at least one step ahead of what others would have done. That sometimes leaves people behind. Open-minded and a pleasant person to change ideas with.

    1. You’re so kind, Robert!

      Grüße in die Nonnestraße …
